Buller Canyon Jet offers an unforgettable high-speed adventure on New Zealand’s mighty Buller River (Māori name: Kawatiri – “swift and deep”).

Enjoy a mind-blowing 40-minute thrill ride reaching speeds of 85km per hour! Race through beautiful scenery in a protected scenic reserve and have real family fun bouncing over awesome white water rapids. How to get there: The jet boats leave from the Buller Gorge Swing Bridge Heritage Park, right beside State Highway 6. It is located 14km west of Murchison on the way to the West Coast. Easy 2-hour drive from Nelson and just 1 hour from Westport. Final check-in is at the swing bridge office 30 minutes before departure.

Buller Canyon Jet was established in 2004 by Mark and Vanessa Allen. It is the only high-speed commercial jet boat operation permitted on the Buller River. This family business has five generations connected to the area – from early gold rush miners to today’s farming, forestry, and adventure community.

Their friendly, personal service makes every trip a highlight of your New Zealand holiday. The skipper team includes Mark, Mike McDougall, and the Allens’ three sons – Tommy, Ben, and Luke – all keen local rugby players.
