Napier Range Lighthouse

The Napier Common Range Front Lighthouse (and its Rear counterpart) is a historic 1906–1907 leading-light system located on Main North Road (SH 2) in Napier, New Zealand. It consists of a 16-meter (52 ft) white, square-pyramidal wooden skeletal tower. Both lights were deactivated in 2006 and are now preserved as local heritage structures. 

The Napier Common Range system played an important role in guiding ships safely into Napier Harbour. Here are the key details about this site: 

• Structure: A 16-meter (52 ft) tall wooden skeletal tower with a lantern and gallery. The seaward face of the tower includes a slatted daymark to assist with daytime visibility.
• Location: Situated just off Main North Road, approximately 3.5 km (2.5 mi) north of Napier.
• Current Status: Inactive since 2006. The grounds are open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
• Rear Light: The Common Range Rear Lighthouse is a 21-meter (69 ft) wooden skeletal tower sitting 331 meters to the west.
