Nelson Classic Car Museum

Nestled at 1 Cadillac Way in Annesbrook, Nelson, the Nelson Classic Car Museum (NCCM) is a must-visit attraction showcasing one of New Zealand’s finest private automotive collections. Housing over 150 beautifully restored veteran, vintage, and classic cars spanning more than 120 years of motoring history, it offers a nostalgic journey through automotive design and engineering.⁠

Highlights include the museum’s oldest vehicle — a 1903 Cadillac that has called Nelson home since new — alongside 1950s icons like Vauxhalls, Triumphs, and Buicks, sleek Jaguars in the dedicated “Cat Cage,” Ferraris, and unique gems such as the world’s fastest Mini (a Bonneville Salt Flats record holder). Many cars are roadworthy and displays rotate as vehicles participate in events. 

Housed on the site of the former Nelson Motor Vehicle Assembly Plant (the “Honda Factory”), the purpose-built facility features period-themed settings and informative plaques. It’s an all-weather indoor experience, complemented by the onsite Little Engine Eatery café.  

Open daily 10am–4pm (closed Christmas Day), adult admission is $20. Whether you’re a petrol head or simply appreciate craftsmanship and history, the Nelson Classic Car Museum delivers a sparkling celebration of motoring heritage just minutes from Nelson city and the airport.
